Hey guys,

Does anyone know who Ingall/Morris will be partnering for this years Bathurst 1000, and Philip Island 500? seems very quiet on the side of things.

perhaps we could do some brain crunching here.

Just so you know, i have no idea who is partnering who, so some of these drivers may not be availaible

Jim Richards/ Russell Ingall?
Glenn Seton / Paul Morris?

that would be a damn good combo, and perhaps with some supercheap backing they could afford these drivers. both could very well be podium/race winning combinations!

I think Seton might be with HRT. Not sure about Jim.

Richards has retired and Seton is with HRT

The reason there are no co-drivers announced is because PM is singing a song and it goes like this ....

"Show me the money"

and the money is just not coming because he is simply asking toooooooo much

ME I disagree. Holden is playing a big part in the resurgance of the team. Russell quoted this at press conference yesterday. I do not think a pay drive is an issue. In fact I think the opposite. I think you will find SCAR will be the ones departing with the money and will be expecting results together with Holden. The team this year has taken a totally different direction. It is no longer a game for the team as before but one that has to achieve results and Russell is doing so.

They have now taken on board a teck engineer who has worlwide experience to further enhance their stance.

Russell has probably in true perspective a further two years of competive driving in which to obtain another championship and/or Bathurst win. I do not think money is going to hinder this prospect.

I do agree Co-Drivers is a mystery BOX with Matt Neil (BTCC) and Boris Said(NASCAR) being mentioned.

We can only hope it all plays out to Russells advantage.

Yvan Muller to my knowledge didnt race last year like he did in 2006 with 888. he could be a VERY handy steerer.

as for the Circuits and the Teams thread, I thought i would start this one, to narrow down and cut straight to the chase of this particular topic. hope you dont mind.

Stido you are a member of the forum and entitled to your say direct or indirect.

With regard to this topic I just wish the team if they have chosen drivers to make it known.

Meanwhile they are missing the advantage given them for Co-Driver practice.

Enduro Drivers finally announced:

Matt Neil
Age 42 (born20/12/66)
BTCC Record (Year ended 2007
Starts: 345
Wins: 29
Champion:05/06
Present Team VX Racing (Vauxhall Vectra)

Held in good esteem by fans and competitors alike.

Only downside has not driven V8 since 2001 Which was for PMM when he wrote car off in racing incident.
Tested last week at QLD Raceway.

Boris Said
Age 45 (Born 18/9/62)
Nascar Ranking: Nationwide Cup 54
Sprint Cup; 98
Presently drives Ford.
Of particular interest he has issues with Ambrose following incident in Mexico.
U.S Blogs by fans do not speak highly of him. He also appears to have problem with sponsorship. Also reading through Blogs he appears to have ego and/or attitude problem.

Peculiar choice

Boris Said sounds as if he will fill in well with PM and as for Matt Neil thats ok PM will just build another car.

The signings are a joke. Surely we have drivers here IN Oz that would fit the criteria better than these guys but like I've said b4 its all to do with "THE MONEY"

it will be an interesting weekend of racing.

Moreso the pairings are;

Paul /Russell
Matt Neil/Boris Said

I agree with Matt Neil and understand his signing but an Oval Driver such as Said leaves a little bit to be desired.. I can only comprehend this is payback for Pauls recent stint in Nascar at Infenon.

You would think Neil would be paired with Russell as Neil is a pretty good steerer.

One can only assume this is Pauls last year in V8:s and he considers Russell his best opportunity for a plausible result.

Pity they have taken this avenue but whom on the local scene would have fitted the situation as all the hotshots were snapped up by other teams earlier in the year.

ME Neil and Said are both being paid to participate. Going to be an expensive weekend at Bathurst I think.

Oh Well Phillip Island will give some indication.

Russell despite his outward appearance must be deflated
