Does anyone have any inside information as to any potential/definate driver changes for the 2009 season? One definate move that i have found out is that Courtney is going to FPR, in what will be a 4 car team. |

Wrong. FPR will be preparing cars for SBR. It will be a customer car franchise. SBR will be run under their own banner for whom Courtney will be contracted to through Ford. Also SBR will be contributing to construction of Cars with theit independant expertise. Courtney is still to put pen to paper as to conctractual arrangements. |

Also I would suggest changes at : HRT/HSV Sprint Gas Racing(Tasman Motor Sport) Murphy who is not happy. SCAR |

Michaelvt with respect the licence requirements do not allow a Four Car Team. They are limited to Two Cars. To make this more explicit for you recall the HRT/HSV confusion. SBR will be retaining there grade one licences and total control of there team. Also consider at this time Courtney is off contract with both SBR and Ford but is in discussions. As I stated the cars will be initially prepared by FPR and leased to SBR with components from both teams making a contribution. As I said a customer car situation. If Courtnery fails to agree with terms offered by Ford in which he is making fairly high demands do not be surprised if he is not one of the golden boys in the Ford pact. The Red side is also displaying more than than usual interest and will depend upon Courtneys decision as to whether they follow the suit of Ford by withdrawing funding. It is not beyond the realms of possibility Courtney may become a GMH signature driver. If this does happen it will surprise all who the prime teams chosen by GMH will be. So as I said with respect your informant can not and does not have the facts, The Courtney family DO .who live in the Nepean Region where I reside. I am not trying to be a smarty or a no it all but the facts are facts. If I am wrong you will receive my apology. Regards |

Yes you are right in some aspects Commodore S - SBR and FPR will have a very close relationship next year where they will be sharing resources/parts/liveries etc etc, which technically makes it a four car team. I am unable to reveal my source(s) as to where my claims have come from but they are very reliable and i have not just made this up. Courtney is selling his house in Queensland and has made plans to rent a house near Melbourne; thats about all i am allowed to say about the matter. Oh and i know you're not being smart or anything, im just making a point of what i know is going on. Everyone else is free to make claims like this. You don't have to believe me, im just telling people what i have heard. |

michaelvt 3 months ago | Oh, and yes - the Courtney family do have the facts. |

O.K lets agree to disagree on the Courtney situation and let things play out. What do you think of the other movements I mentioned. |

Well Michaelvt I have now not a clue what Courtney is up to. Ford have ticked all the boxes to his demands however he continues to dither. If he wants the FPR car he must link up with SBR again as V8SCA have quashed any thoughts of a satellite team for FPR. Afterall the Ford money is going to FPR and SBR. He has been linked to DJR however I personally can not see that happening due to Johnsons straight approach and Coutneys attitude. I could see a real personality clash. Your thoughts. Regards |

Well Michaelvt their is one driver change announced that we would not expect. Shane Price being turfed by Larry in favour of his son. He would be a handy young driver to pick up given the correct mentor.I personally do not think Jack has done sufficient to warrant his return to the main game. Anyway all we can do is wish him luck particularly having Larry who has no tolerance being his father and looking over his shoulder. |

Will Davison to HRT?? i dont think he even no were he wants to go.. And shane price i dont think there will be a drive for him most drivers are staying static Also a rumour on the Grapevine is steven richards going to be at FPR next year???? |

Yes Mattforcer39 Will is off to HRT as Skaife is handing him the keys. From what I can gather the ride was initially intended for Courtney however his demands exceeded his talent. Do not be surprised to see Shane Price residing on the Gold Coast in the ensuing future. As for Richo, rumours can turn into reality however I feel FPR would be reluctant to see him leave. I think the whole puzzle will pan out when the Courtney factor is settled. As Courtney has displayed his cards will Ford now show enthusiasm for him to become one of their dedicated drivers.I have noted Courtney has changed his mindset and is praising SBR for their efforts whereby beforehand he was pretty well complacent in his comments. It will all pan out in due course. |

Well Commodore S, i might have to reconsider my initial statements about Courtney. However they still might ring true. As for Davison moving to HRT - it will make it an easy choice for who my most hated team of 2009 will be As for Perkins moving back in, that was inevitable. But i also believe Jacks not quite ready. The silly season has well and truly begun. |

Hi Michaelvt. I thought you were ignoring us or me at least. With Courtney it is hard to figure where the ego finishes and the talent commences because he has ample of both. His demands to both Ford and Holden are off the planet. (or were shall I say). Even in the position he has placed himself by pricing himself out of the marketplace I think the end result whatever it may be once he returns to earth he will be a keen competitor in 2009. It certainly does look like he will be remaining with SBR based on his new found attitude to this team. As for Will I think he has shot himself in the foot. DJR have now increased funding on hand assured for three years which would have secured his future. Afterall he has proven competitive with the team surviving on shoe strings. He is also required to re-locate from the Gold Coast to Melbourne. What a body shock..He is also moving from a family motivated team to a robotic atmosphere. It is obvious Price has been talking with another team and Larry has gotten wind of the talks and therefore the DCM. Price as I said earlier in this topic would be a good and worthy chosen driver for a team looking for a young driver to mentor. He reminds me of a young Jamie Whincup or Mark Winterbottom. Larry can not blame Shane for the teams poor performance. Todd Kelly is much better than indicated by results. Jack Daniels sponsorship was three fold to that received by DJR however it certainly does not reflect in results. I think it is time Larry took a leaf out of GRMs book and open his wallet further as Garry had to. As for Jack his return to the main game I consider was not inevitable but a reflex action from Larry to fill the shoes of Shane. Pity because young Jack would be aware of circumstances and his return to the main game was not on merit alone. Yes the silly season has begun with a lot of puzzles to be answered. |

Well Matt White certainly let one out of the hat to-day and I noticed Crompton did not comment. The Kelly boys Rick and Todd are teaming together in 2009 on a stand alone basis and you heard it on 7 first. Well correct me if I am wrong but do not the Kelly family already hold the HSV licence for whom Rick and Paul Dumbrell are contracted. Since the Shane Price exit from the Larry farm have not Todd together with Larry both emphasised they will be sticking together. Indeed to-day Todd says they have put so much work and consideration into the cars and are now only reaping the rewards and it would be pity to throw it all away. Young Jack emerges from his timid state and informs us whilst he would like to drive for his father in the future this is not assured. I do not think I am a dumb bunny but I am totally confused. This scenario may be quite plain to others but to me I understand the MARX BROS better. Please somebody explain it to me in black and white. Thanking you in anticipation. Regards Talk about the silly season |

My apoligies that I continue however Young Jack also states he will still be contesting the 2nd tier together with the main game. Was not this a thought suggested for all main game drivers and was quickly stomped upon as it would defeat the purpose of the young drivers learning the craft in the 2nd tier. If so why is Jack allowed the dispensation? Just food for thought. |

Well Matt White has certainly opened a "can of Worms" with his statement regarding the Kelly Boys. It has re-opened the clarity regarding ownership of the HRT/HSV debacle. When Todd was questioned regarding the future he stated "the whole mess was presently being sorted out". Was White out of line and before his time thus his absence from Bahrain. |
|
Commodore S 2 weeks ago |
Well it came out to-day that Rick and Todd would be teaming up without Walkinshaw intrusion. Now the strange part - Todd to carry Jack Daniels sponsor livery and Rick to carry Red Bull Livery as a stand alone team with the appropriate licence. Asks a lot of questions. |
|

Hmm im not sure if Matt White was out of line. I think the only reason he was not in Bahrain was because of his new commitment to "Today Tonight". I didn't miss him. However, i must admit these plans for an all-Kelly team are quite interesting and hard to understand. |

Well the Kelly pairing has been confirmed and will run under their parents licence. Walkinshaw in turn has purchased the licence of PWR to run the HSV name with Paul Dumbrell the expected driver. Correct me if I am wrong but is Walkinshaw not a co-owner of HRT with Skaife. Where does this leave the ownership of HRT. Also where does this leave Larry Perkins. Is he now at the crossroads whereby he will dispense of his licence and concentrate on the engineering side of things for the Kellys.? Alex Davison has been designated to replace Courtney at SBR but where is Courtney going?.(DJR). Michaelvt help me out here. What am I missing or missed?. PCR were looking at the prospect of running a 2nd car in .09. I can see Andrew Thompson slipping in their nicely alongside Coulthard .I hope this is the case and TKR is not being considered because it would be a waste of talent/ Then we still have Shane Price whom I think we may be talking about next year on this very forum. Combine all this with the Jason Bright saga you can certainly call it the silliest season and their are more puzzles to follow. All the news usually leaks after Dec however it is seaping through the woodwork earlier for some unusual reason. Regards |
